At this time of great environmental upheaval and change we face an unknown and frightening future.  It is a time when we are all called to find the best within us as we prepare to  step out of the comfortable and the familiar. We need to create a way of living that allows us to support and protect the other beings who live on this planet.  We need to remember those who come after and plan to leave them a good and nurturing home upon the earth so that we may say to our grandchildren with pride – we didn’t forget you: we have done the best we can.

We here at Hartwell offer you a programme for change – Earth Stewards – whose aim is to support you to reconnect and remember, to honour equally the needs of the earth, the plants and the animals with those of ourselves.  To awaken the dream life has for us; to find our conscious purpose; and to make a difference.

While Hartwell is always the inspiration of Annie Spencer, she is joined in the design and application of our programmes by a group who have worked with her for many years: Cathy Shea, Lucy O’Meara, Anne Lynn and Willa Harlatt.  We welcome Robert Estrup from Denmark onto the faculty for the Earth Stewards programme.

As ever, the aim of Hartwell is to help participants to heal, regain their balance and find a true purpose that puts them in harmony with all our relations: the stone, plant and animal beings with whom we share this planet.  From the distant past and across boundaries of culture comes a rich and authentic mosaic of shamanic teachings, offering a powerful means of personal and spiritual development.  We work to integrate ancient shamanic healing and ceremonial ways with the best of our western ways.  this year we offer an opportunity to work with our ancestors with the workshop Healing our Ancestral Lines..

We also offer individual ceremonies.  Each year we hold vision quests and we will work with you to design and hold individual ceremonies such as a marriage, hand fasting or baby naming.
