Earth Stewards: a weekend of inspiration and hope with Annie Spencer & Cathy Shea

A residential weekend workshop near Salisbury 12 – 14 March 2010

‘Shamans see that illness comes from living a life that is out of balance and disharmonious.we must ..help people live a life of honour and respect for nature and the rest of life. In this way harmony and health can return to the planet again...’

Sandra Ingerman

image 1At this time of upheaval and confusion we are calling to those who feel the pull to reconnect and remember, to find ways to bridge the gap between the needs of the earth, the plants, the animals and humans.  How can we do this?  What is needed to bring our society into a better way of living?  How can we find the strength for such a gargantuan task?  Can each one of us really make a difference?

Find your inspiration, regain your hope and join the growing  millions of ordinary people around the world who are becoming part of the solution.

On this weekend, open to experienced practitioners and newcomers alike, we will explore these issues with proven experiential practices combined with traditional shamanic journeying and ceremony.  We will:

Dream with the earth for inspiration
Journey to her guardians to learn what role we might play in her protection
Make ceremony on the land to empower ourselves for the way ahead.

To become an earth steward we need to trust that if we make a small move then, like the butterfly, we too can summon up a tornado of change.

12 (eve) – 16 May : Earth Stewards
 a camp in West Cornwall

We will camp in the far southwest of Cornwall where the land still holds the memory of ancient ways.  Teachings will be held in a roundhouse and we may visit some of the sacred sites that are close by.

We have entered a time of potentially devastating environmental  change.  There has never been a greater need for conscious action.  It is not just a question of survival  but of growing into our true purpose and accepting the gift of service to the community and to the earth itself.  We are calling to those who feel the pull to reconnect and remember, to honour equally the needs of the earth, the plants, the animals and us humans.

Becoming an earth steward means

Being able to say to your grandchildrenI did everything I could.

Taking responsibility for the guardianship of the land and community in which we live

Learning to dream our dreams in harmony with the great dream of life itself.
Trusting that if we make a small move then, like the butterfly, we too can summon up a tornado of change.

This course will be highly experiential, with exercises, teachings, time out
in nature and ceremony.  We will explore ancient earth based spiritual
traditions and work with modern techniques and theories.  Our aim is to
work at a deep level to transform ourselves, our belief systems and our ways
of being.  We will create community and support one another in our first steps towards making a difference out in the world.

We will share our fears about the uncertainties of the future and move through them to explore ways in which we can start to make change happen; and throughout, find solace and strength through finding our place within the earth’s community.

We have entered a time of potentially devastating environmental, economic, political and social change.

Becoming an earth steward means taking responsibility for the guardianship of the land and community in which we live

Becoming an earth steward means regaining the awe and wonder of knowing that we are part of a grand and mysterious universe whose patternings and subtle changes never fail to move us.

Becoming and earth steward means learning to dream our dreams in harmony with the great dream of life itself.

Becoming an earth steward means trusting that if we make a small move then, like the butterfly, we too can summon up a tornado of change

Becoming an earth steward means saying to your grandchildren  I remember you and those who will come after you and I am doing everything I can.
Becoming an earth steward means we will experience once more what it is like when we fully know ourelves to be a part of the natural world instead of an alienated stranger:

                                      I thought the earth
                                     remembered me, she
took me back so tenderly, arranging
                                        her dark skirts, her pockets
                                  full of lichens and seeds.
